In an effort to explore data visualization possibilities for Classmates.com -- one of the web's first social media networks and one that heavily relies on old friendships -- JESS3 was approached to mock up what an interactive feature called "How Do I Compare" would look like on their site. The concept behind HDIC was to allow members to compare themselves to other classmates members on a number of different levels: how many children they had, whether they were married or not, how far they went in school, whether or not they owned a home, etc.
