Project Vote Smart is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that provides information to voters about U.S. political candidates. Their library of data is enormous, and to the casual reader, can be overwhelming. They asked us to create a visual, interactive interface for users to access the full breadth and depth of their research. We took the idea of a "political galaxy" and turned it into a literal one. In this fully interactive UI, a user can search for any politician, then select one of dozens of issues to see that politician's votes, speeches, funding, and more. As political groups around the country search for ways to get out the youth vote, this beautiful and engaging project meets millennials on their home turf.
