Mind Mapr

Continuing the relationship between JESS3 and NASA, we embarked on yet another mission in the name of innovation, collaboration and technology. With the joint effort of USAID, Nike and the U.S. Department of State, NASA helped form LAUNCH, a global initiative to identify and support the innovative work poised to contribute to a sustainable future and accelerate solutions to meet urgent challenges facing our society. The three-day conference held at the Kennedy Space Center October 30 through November 1, 2010 seeks innovations to improve global health with a focus on nutrition, exercise, and diagnostics. As five innovators (industry experts) make presentations in round-table format, JESS3 has developed a four-part system to turn this conference from a linear experience to an interactive and engaging one. In order to keep up with the fast pace of the forum, JESS3 created a unique note-taking software that captures meta data in real time that can be categorized by topics and contributors. Rather than relying on hand-written notes that are laborious and inefficient when it comes to turning around quick results and reports, the NoteTaker application provides a modern solution for LAUNCH. JESS3 also built a visual display all data collected through the software, presented on large screens at the conference to highlight macro-level trends and help catalyze and inspire further discussion among impact groups. To provide added value, JESS3 also built a PDF reporting system, similar to a Google analytics report, allowing participants and innovators a follow-up report to see the big picture coming out of the conference, including cluster data and trends. Finally, JESS3 opened the doors of LAUNCH beyond the Space Center by designing and building a website that allows anyone and everyone the chance to participate in this solution-driven discussion of ideas to meet global challenges.
