Workology Series

The Project:
Partnering again with the collaboration software experts at Mindjet, we explored the personas likely to be encountered in the office with a series called Workology.

Our Methodology:
The Workology series takes a look at Work Personality Types, the dominant personas that make up a working team. Taking cues from common astrology, Myers-Briggs and tarot cards, each type was featured on one of eight Facebook-optimized, two-sided cards that illustrate the persona and list common traits. The types were examined further in blog posts that include real-life examples and interviews on the Mindjet blog. In all, ten posts were written, to introduce, explore and conclude the series.

At the conclusion of the series, we created an infographic that views The Workplace Zodiac as a whole and breaks down the various relationships within it. All the data and graphics are part of a landing page that allows users to investigate what the Work Personality Types are in their workplace are, plus determine how their team can work most efficiently based on the make-up of WPTs.

This series was originally just designed to drive brand awareness, but is now also being folded into Mindjet’s sales team’s efforts as well.

Results:
Workology has resulted in increased social enagement on Mindjet’s Twitter and Facebook accounts, as well as generated chatter on their blog. The final infographic was featured on the front page of Visual.ly.

The Workology Series increased engagement across Mindjet’s social channels, including: thousands of tweets on Twitter, increased comments on Facebook, and more than 1,000 re-pins on Pinterest. The series also boosted traffic to Mindjet’s blog threefold and has been linked to multiple times from such notable social media blogs as Alltop, Bit Rebels and DashBurst. The final infographic was featured on the front page of Visual.ly and viewed more than 2,100 times. Additionally, The Workplace Zodiac is now ranked among the top 5% of nearly 4,000 business-related infographics on Visual.ly.

JESS3 and Foursquare Partner for the Elections with "I Voted"

JESS3 worked closely with foursquare to build a custom map visualization of Election Day check-ins that access over 108,000 official polling locations thanks to the Voting Information Project (Google x The Pew Center on the States).

MTV Taps JESS3 as Digital Partner for the First O Music Awards

MTV — the network that has defined the music industry for 30 years teamed up with digital partner JESS3 to give a voice to the people with the inaugural O Music Awards. In celebration of the new ways we all experience and consume music, the awards show was designed to be Open, Ongoing and Online — pressing pause twice a year to recognize and reward fans, artists and technologists.

Infographic Earns FastCo Press, Sheds Light on Poverty and Obesity Link

Originally created for CauseShift, the compelling JESS3 infographic gains traction, most recently being featured on Co.Exist. In an article titled, "Infographic: Untangling The Web Of Poverty, Obesity, And Food,"editor Morgan Clendaniel says , This new infographic, by Jess3 for CauseShift, attempts to draw some more concrete connections between poverty and obesity, and also highlights another concept: food insecurity." Comprised of data from states in the U.S., the infographic compares a state’s obesity rate, food assistance rate, poverty rate, and food insecurity level. The article digs in-depth into the data link laid out by the JESS3 inforgraphic.

Gmail Marches into Smart Phones with JESS3

JESS3 worked closely with the Gmail team to depict the web-based browser coming to life on mobile devices using handmade paper craft and stop motion animation, set to the sounds of a marching band recorded exclusively for the purpose of the spot.

5 Defining Moments at JESS3

Our President, COO and co-founder reflects on the early days at JESS3 in slide and word. Initially designed for the CEOs of Silicon Valley Bank's portfolio companies, Leslie extends her thinking following the event in this blog post. Top learnings include: dedicating early to excellence and labs, focusing on data visualization, hiring more seasoned talent and more women, and making health and wellness a priority from the top down.

Tackling Cystic Fibrosis

Along with Samsung, Sears and the Boomer Esiason Foundation, JESS3 built a social media for social actions site that leverages foursquare, Twitter and Facebook to help "tackle" CF. Aiming to raise $150k, every tweet, check-in and Like drive the ball forward in the fight.

To accompany Leslie Bradshaw's first article on Forbes, "Why Women Having a Seat At The Table Is Not Enough," and underscore the disparity between the leadership roles men hold as compared to women, JESS3's design team crafted a custom-infographic, displaying the percentages as male and female silhouettes sitting on an actual chair.
