The newest in the partnership with C-SPAN and foursquare, JESS3 is proud to have helped coordinate the network's efforts to bring education and politics to the masses through the geosocial platform in the form of a dedicated foursquare C-SPAN badge. Designed by JESS3, this badge can be obtained by checking in to five pre-determined politically significant locations, mostly around the Washington, D.C. area.
JESS3 co-founder Leslie Bradshaw was joined by JESS3 editorial and outreach director Simon Owens to discuss the finer points of how Facebook was hacked by porn spammers during the week of November 14th. JESS3's latest infographic The Connected Workspace was featured on Mashable.com. Teaming up with our long time content partners Mindjet, we visualized the benefits of social technology using leveraged data from McKinsey. Interesting highlights from the infographic include the finding that social technology could improve the productivity of some workers by 20-25%, and also that only 3% of companies using social tech are "fully networked" and are "benefiting substantially." Our infographic asks an important question to the modern day working class. What sort of social tech does your company leverage?
For the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show, JESS3 worked closely with processor-powerhouse Intel to design and develop the first ever social media data visualization to run at CES entirely in HTML5 and CSS3. The geosocial heat map was the most popular feature, showing what was "hot" on the show floor in real-time.
JESS3 worked closely with foursquare to build a custom map visualization of Election Day check-ins that access over 108,000 official polling locations thanks to the Voting Information Project (Google x The Pew Center on the States).
JESS3 earns notice for being one of five of DC’s hottest startups with the “Best Startup Swag.” InTheCapital gives a shout-out to JESS3 swag calling the t-shirts, “absurdly awesome and well designed to the point where you feel guilty for accepting it for free.” Along with the swag applaud, InTheCapital states JESS3 founder and CEO, Jesse Thomas as, “easily one of the coolest people you will ever meet in D.C. Tech.” Did it stop there? Not exactly. InTheCapital writer Carl Pierre went on to state, “if I saw any JESS3 t-shirts, posters, or pins -- being sold in a store, I would not hesitate to whip out my wallet and pay actual money for it.”

To celebrate five years of expanding digital media literacy in the nation’s capital, the DC Social Media Club teamed up with local partner JESS3 to showcase the club’s achievements to date.
