Website Redesign

The Project: Looking to rocket its brand into 2012, DC-based GeniusRocket reached out to their friends and neighbors at JESS3 for cutting-edge illustration, site strategy and design. As a part of this exercise, JESS3 developed a look, style and feel from the logo out that conveyed the timeless, retro quality of the existing brand. The end product is JESS3 at its best: visual storytelling through fun, illustrative and interactive elements.

Our Methodology: Guided by the GeniusRocket logo, JESS3 created a marvelous outer-space scene to serve as the backdrop for the website. It was important that the new layout flowed well and looked professional, while at the same time pushing the envelope on creativity. We employed a parallax effect to give a layered visual with the background illustrations and used reverse scrolling to play off the 'rocket taking off’ idea. We designed each page in a stack that could be navigated too by tabs, which on its own is not unique, but helped strengthen the core idea.

JESS3 Designs Posters for Google's New LA Office

To celebrate the opening of its new offices, Google LA approached frequent design partner JESS3 to create 13 movie-sized posters, one for each of the major engineering efforts at the LA site that would live beyond the opening event in November. The result is a group of fun illustrated infographics which tell the story of the processes behind Ad Sense, Chrome, and Google+ photo sharing and more.

Infographic Earns FastCo Press, Sheds Light on Poverty and Obesity Link

Originally created for CauseShift, the compelling JESS3 infographic gains traction, most recently being featured on Co.Exist. In an article titled, "Infographic: Untangling The Web Of Poverty, Obesity, And Food,"editor Morgan Clendaniel says , This new infographic, by Jess3 for CauseShift, attempts to draw some more concrete connections between poverty and obesity, and also highlights another concept: food insecurity." Comprised of data from states in the U.S., the infographic compares a state’s obesity rate, food assistance rate, poverty rate, and food insecurity level. The article digs in-depth into the data link laid out by the JESS3 inforgraphic.

JESS3 helps Samsung and Dan Marino Team Up For Autism

Samsung and the Dan Marino Foundation launched a fundraising campaign based on social actions on foursquare, Facebook and Twitter, earning $5 each. JESS3 stepped in to design both an infographic and a web site to educate people on both Autism and its impact on thousands of people but how the fundraising mechanism itself worked.

Amnesty International and JESS3 Team up for Anniversary Infographics

JESS3 had the honor of helping leading human rights protection non-profit Amnesty International celebrates its 50th anniversary this year with the creation of five data visualizations. This collection of infographics aims to inform the public about some of the issues Amnesty International is most passionate about as well as the organization's history itself.

C-SPAN’s online Campaign 2012 Hub designed by JESS3, the creative agency which designed C-SPAN’s Webby Award-nominated 2008 Convention Hub, will provide complementary video, political information, and social engagement opportunities for C-SPAN’s political audience. The Hub will bring together people who love politics and are interested in the conventions to watch, discuss, share and connect with others.
