MarketerMonday Chat, or #MMchat, is a weekly discussion led by Jeff Ashcroft. JESS3 Director of Strategy, Brad Cohen, was the special guest for this week's chat. Jeff and Brad discussed the power behind infographics and their growing popularity, and also delved into the many ways JESS3 attacks data and creates the final product.
In an ongoing effort to thank our avid supporters on Twitter, JESS3 designs a weekly graphic that pulls in the shiny faces and unique avatars that have made our week especially awesome.
Capital Business reporter Tom Heath announced on Monday: "The founders of JESS3 — the District-based visual storyteller for corporations such as Google, NIKEiD and ESPN — are moving to Los Angeles next month. For good." Adding that, "JESS3 co-founder Leslie Bradshaw tells us the company set up offices in Highland Park a year ago. Bradshaw, who founded the firm with Jesse Thomas and is one of the key players in the local business scene, said the move will enable the firm to better serve their West Coast clients, which make up 90 percent of JESS3’s business."
"How much of a boost does a business get from a president’s visit? After the folks at the Washington sandwich shop Taylor Gourmet got a visit from President Obama on May 16, they decided to crunch the numbers and find out. President Obama spent exactly 15 minutes at Taylor Gourmet. That visit was enough to boost the stores’ sandwich sales by 15 percent. Orders for the Spruce Street (Obama’s hoagie of choice) jumped from 21 each day to 53 after the President’s visit. More in a very comprehensive infographic drawn up by design firm JESS3, after the jump."
JESS3 co-founder Leslie Bradshaw was joined by JESS3 editorial and outreach director Simon Owens to discuss the finer points of how Facebook was hacked by porn spammers during the week of November 14th. WUSA 9 reporter Lindsey Mastis joined the JESS3 team at our DC offices, where they discussed what happened and how to avoid the situation in the future. It's un-Biebevable!

Called “The Essential Guide to Facebook Emoticons,” The Next Web premiered JESS3’s graphic outlining how to create emoticons in Facebook messages, comments and chats. Displaying everything from Chris Putnam to a penguin, the emoticons and their keyboard shortcuts give users a wide breadth of fun options. As noted by The Next Web, JESS3’s graphic reveals the tricks of the keyboard shortcut trade to solve an “age-old problem” — expressing one’s excitement, or penguin obsession, through Facebook of course.
JESS3 worked closely with the Gmail team to depict the web-based browser coming to life on mobile devices using handmade paper craft and stop motion animation, set to the sounds of a marching band recorded exclusively for the purpose of the spot.
