What is RPM? Video

The Project: Eloqua and JESS3 have partnered again to create the sequel to The Future of Revenue. This video defines Revenue Performance Management and its impact on not only the world of sales and marketing but on the future of business as a whole. RPM shines the light on each stage of the buying journey, and thus how well companies are converting people within each of those stages. Eloqua wanted to define this slightly abstract concept more thoroughly, and to show that Revenue Performance Management adds a more scientific, and less creative, element to marketing.

Our Methodology: We brought RPM to life with the fun visual elements of a Rube Goldberg machine; a highly complex machine that does a simple task. Like the Goldberg Machine, RPM is a complex series of interactions that is highly precise and intricate in its mechanics. We wanted to characterize RPM in the same way as a Rube Goldberg machine: dependable, quirky, and fun. We added sound effects to help the viewer follow the movements within this complex machine, and to add humor to the different animations, like the donut flying into a mouth and knocking the toupee off the character’s head.
