For its MySpace Developer web site and platform, MySpace engaged JESS3 to design buttons as well as help explore the site’s UI / UX. JESS3 also helped design he Developer Challenge contest page, where MySpace developers competed to win $10,000 by being judged on their products by the COO of MySpace amongst others on four different criteria: entertainment value and appeal, innovation, originality and technical achievement.

JESS3 Featured by Fast Company Co.CREATE for Role in Infinite Atlas

Infinite Atlas is, in the simplest terms, "an independent research and art project seeking to identify, place and describe every possible location in David Foster Wallace’s Infinite Jest." In broader terms, it’s an infinitely absorbing marriage of literature and rich location-based data. The map is the work of Washington-based writer, and dedicated Infinite Jest fan, William Beutler. [...] The scope of the project meant Beutler brought in a number of creative partners, including agency JESS3 and DC web development company RedEdge, which helped bring the interactive map to life.

JESS3’s Coachella Infographic Featured on The Huffington Post

The Huffington Post’s Los Angeles vertical spotlighted “Coachella by the Likes,” JESS3’s infographic examining Coachella’s roster by number of “Likes” each band has on Facebook. We matched the number of Facebook fans per musical act with their graphic presence on the annual Coachella lineup poster. Making use of the Facebook-liking, data-driven generation, the resulting visualization triggered insightful discoveries about the festival’s lineup. The Huffington Post used our findings to surmise whether “Coachella's iconic poster [does] justice to the most popular acts when it comes to prominence and font size.”

"How much of a boost does a business get from a president’s visit? After the folks at the Washington sandwich shop Taylor Gourmet got a visit from President Obama on May 16, they decided to crunch the numbers and find out. President Obama spent exactly 15 minutes at Taylor Gourmet. That visit was enough to boost the stores’ sandwich sales by 15 percent. Orders for the Spruce Street (Obama’s hoagie of choice) jumped from 21 each day to 53 after the President’s visit. CEO and Founder Jesse Thomas Named as 500 Startups Mentor

JESS3 CEO and Founder Jesse Thomas was named as a mentor for 500 Startups. Thomas joins a robust group of more than 175 other industry leaders around the globe. Thomas will share branding, marketing, and visual communication expertise gained from his experience shaping JESS3. Mentors must dedicate at least five hours a month to assisting startups. "I look at this like a badge of honor," said Thomas upon the announcement.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s National Chamber Foundation (NCF) announced JESS3's Co-founder, President & COO Leslie Bradshaw as a U.S. Chamber Fellow for 2012-2013. The prestigious program assembles experienced thought leaders and business professionals to aid in identifying emerging issues that will impact the business community within the next two to five years. Bradshaw’s areas of inquiry will be: Female entrepreneurship, millennial leadership and the impact of social technologies on the United States.

JESS3 Team Mobile Uploads, SOPA & PIPA Edition

Instead of posting our usual weekly team Mobile Uploads, we’ve rounded up some of the actions our team members have taken to protest the SOPA and PIPA initiatives. The team has signed petitions, called local reps, and transferred 175 domains from GoDaddy, an early supporter of SOPA, to Namecheap.
